Celeste Sarabia is a contemporary portrait artist who lives and works in Austin, Texas. She was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in a small border town in Anthony, New Mexico. Sarabia combines abstract expressionism and traditional representational art to create these brilliant and texture filled, yet thought-provoking portraits, all while using a combination of mediums- acrylic, oil, encaustic wax, oil pastel, and the occasional gold foil.
Sarabia’s artwork has been exhibited throughout west and central Texas, including “Neighbors” and Söele’s Brand Release Party + Local Artist Showcase, in Austin, Texas. Her artwork can be found in Mexic-Arte Museum as part of their permanent collection and at Valentina’s Tex Mex as part of their personal collection - all in Austin. She has also created many commissioned works of art.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University - with honors.
